Good to know

Accommodation questions, answered.

Supported Independent Living, or SIL, is NDIS support that helps participants live more independently. It may include help with daily routines, personal care, meal preparation, household tasks, community access, skill-building and overnight or 24/7 support depending on the participant’s needs and funding.
Specialist Disability Accommodation, or SDA, is housing designed for eligible NDIS participants with extreme functional impairment or very high support needs. SDA refers to the home itself, while SIL or other supports may fund the support people receive in the home.
Vitality can support participants with SIL, daily living supports, high-intensity supports and transition planning. In some cases, we may work with SDA or housing partners to help participants explore suitable accommodation options.
Suitability depends on the participant’s goals, support needs, funding, compatibility with other residents, accessibility requirements, behaviour support needs, location preferences and risk considerations. Our team can discuss these factors with the participant, family and Support Coordinator.

Yes, Vitality supports participants with complex and high-intensity support needs where we have the right staffing, clinical oversight, risk planning and onboarding process in place.
If you do not see the exact home you are looking for, you can still contact us. We may be able to discuss suitability, support needs, location preferences, partner options or alternative accommodation pathways.
